- “Our focus is to move from words to action, realize today’s sustainability potential, and identify how we can develop our products and services for the future,” says Berge.

What Challenges Do You See in the Industry?

“The oil and gas industry faces several challenges in maintaining sustainable operations. We need to reduce carbon emissions, find new and innovative ways to extract resources, minimize environmental impact, maintain profitability, and adapt to global changes in the energy mix. To meet these challenges, we must continuously work on innovation and technology development, focus on sustainable business practices, and collaborate across sectors. For us, it is important to be transparent and bold,” says Berge.

How Do You Think Terravera Can Support Your Sustainability Efforts?

“Our ambition in collaborating with Terravera is to gain insight into the entire value chain, our own emissions, and how our solutions can reduce our customers’ emissions. The goal is to go in-depth, quantify, and unlock our potential. We are the first in the oil and gas industry to do this, and we believe this is a great starting point for our ongoing sustainability work — something we are proud of,” says Berge.

Do You Encourage Others in the Industry to Collaborate for Common Solutions?

“The industry can improve its understanding of its own value chain. In-depth knowledge to identify potential and increase competence is crucial. Additionally, we need to shift our focus from just reporting and carbon accounting to actual measures and actions. Terravera provides a solid foundation for this, with the potential to share verified information across the industry,” says Berge.

What Do You Hope to Achieve with the Terravera Collaboration?

“We believe that Terravera brings a new perspective to insight and understanding of data collection in a sustainability context. Access to verifiable data, not just cost indicators, provides a better foundation for making sustainability decisions. A digital twin of our value chain will also offer improved oversight and decision-making for strategic choices,” explains Berge.

“Initially, Terravera will model the value chain for Izomax and the AOGV product. Our hypothesis is that AOGV reduces emissions, costs, and is more efficient than competing products. We want verified data to support this and to identify areas for improvement. This way, we avoid greenwashing, provide our customers with accurate scope 4 information, and ensure transparency,” concludes Eirik Berge.

We at Terravera look forward to an exciting collaboration!
