Terravera represents an objective third party that enables validation of environmental impact and provide reliable data to our customers. We see this platform as relevant to all our products and solutions, and believe it can facilitate a more objective and rational process of sustainable business.

As a partner in their program, we have had a very close follow-up and a good dialogue with frequent information and updates on activities and progress. Their team and resources are well diversified to enter into complex technical challenges.

What message can you give to other companies when it comes to working with the Terravera platform?

Any company will at some point need to objectively prove the effects and potential advantages of their products or services, with respect to sustainability. For this purpose, Terravera will serve as a good partner – to learn and develop scientifically proven tools to prove and communicate this to customers.

Tell us about what you have been focusing on

Our target industries span a range of areas and locations. We have selected ship hull performance and steel protection on offshore wind installations as two initial areas to work on. Initial focus on these selected areas allows us to learn more about the working processes of Terravera, as well as evaluate how we can utilize this as a tool to adjust our communication with the market. We selected these areas as they are already advanced in their approach to sustainability, and they represent a significant opportunity to contribute to the ongoing green shifts.

What other industries may find this work useful for them?

For Jotun, an attractive part of the Terravera model is that it enables an overview of entire value chains by allowing different stakeholders and companies to take part in the same model. By involving and integrating multiple stakeholders, this allows everyone to get a better and more complete overview of how various elements influence sustainability along the value chain. This may facilitate even better and more objective decision making and new innovations.
